Aaron Douglas to play ‘The Turtle’ on ‘The Flash’!

In new casting news for ‘The Flash‘, actor Aaron Douglas best known for his role in Battlestar Galactica will be joining the show as the villain, ‘The Turtle‘. Unlike Barry’s ability to skip through time, the CW’s version of ‘The Turtle‘ will be able to slow down time! In the comics The Turtle is more of a criminal mastermind, using slow, deliberate planning to antagonize the lineage of speedsters. Not unlike The Clock King, who has already been foiled on both The Flash and Arrow.

Perhaps to differentiate the character the CW’s version of The Turtle will instead rely on the superhuman ability to slow down time. With present Flash Barry Allen currently attempting to greater and greater speeds that seems like a dilemma.

In fact, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained that The Turtle may have been slowing him down all along. With the exception of Barry, the rest of the main cast has known about the slowest man alive for some time, hunting him without the hero’s knowledge.

“In a surprisingly funny twist” Barry learns of this just in time to face him head-on.

The Flash returns January 19 on the CW.
